FREE surf camp for children with autism ! where ? tourmaline surf park / pacific beach when ? wednesday, august 10 · 12:00pm - 4:00pm what ? each child is in the water for about 30 minutes with volunteer / includes FREE lunch and lots of love + aloha ! call to action ? volunteers (in/out of the water) + local media coverage (hit me up). founded : surfers healing was founded by israel and danielle paskowitz. their son, isaiah, was diagnosed with autism at age three. Like many autistic children, he often suffered from sensory overload-- simple sensations could overwhelm him....

jawz 101

JAWZ fish tacos started in 1998 as a roadside truck in makena, maui, catering to locals and tourists on their way to big beach and little beach (nude beach). a maui visitor of many years, a highlight of every trip was hitting the truck for a fish taco / smoothie after a day of nude body surfing. haha ! \ in 2003, JAWZ opened a restaurant in kihei, maui, and became a popular destination for locals / surfers. every trip, we'd stop in for a beer, fish taco, and run through their KILLER salsa bar. with a penchant for hawaiian - style meals, i longed for a location (or, truck) in san diego....

the cove: 1/23/10

the (la jolla) cove is usually a destination for swimmers, kayakers, and seals. today, 1/23/10, it was owned by some of san diego's best surfers. RARELY does the cove break, but when it does, it produces some amazing surf. today, it averaged between 12 - 17 feet. here are some pictures, i shot (click to enlarge) :

Martino) creates contemporary art inspired by the street, alternative, underground, and graffiti movements at the forefront of creative exploration today." some of this art is created on / around snapped surfboards. what joe roper can't fix, becomes an epic piece: currently showing (thru january 17th) at PROJECT X ART in solana beach, SURF SACRIFICE is an exhibit dedicated to C. Martino and his innovate use of busted surfboards. i look forward to dropping in ...
