last night was the soundDiego launch party at barBasic /east village.
a killer turnout, the night was full of good vibes, amazing people, and some of san diego’s finest musicians.

reading across fay elementary

last year, my radio pal hal, or former 94/9er mike halloran, introduced me to the fine folks at fay elementary, and their RED ACROSS AMERICA program.

at the fashion valley mall to replace the iPhone i sat on (and destroyed), i stopped by the james perse store.
despite being WAY out of my budget, i absolutely adore james perse. hands down, the most comfortable clothes on the planet …

the cove: 1/23/10

the (la jolla) cove is usually a destination for swimmers, kayakers, and seals.
today, 1/23/10, it was owned by some of san diego’s best surfers.
RARELY does the cove break, but when it does, it produces some amazing surf.

uss hampton

yesterday, january 15th, i was invited by the NAVY to embark on a submarine ride with other local bloggers (special thanks to my gal, @jbruin). a once in a lifetime opp, we boarded the USS HAMPTON (fast attack nuclear sub) just after 0:800 hours.

superbowl XXIX

watching the CHARGERS close out the 2009 - 2010 season with an eleven game winning streak, inspired the following memory.
in 1994, i began my career in traditional radio.
a $5 an hour employee at STAR 100.7 (recently flipped from B100), i answered phones for the morning show and appeared on-air as “chris the bagel boy”. [...]
