GnR demo

when guns n’ roses first broke in los angeles, i was a junior in high school at TAFT / the valley.

16 years old (with fake ID, doc martens, + mullet), i’d drive down laurel canyon + hit shows at the roxy, madame wong’s, troubadour, whiskey, + gazzarri’s.

it was madness.

earlier today — while rummaging through a box of high school / college memorabilia — i was reunited with a GNR demo (from 1986). a pink cassette, it has the following stripped-down version of ‘november rain’ on it …

say what you want about axl … but, in his prime, he was a pretty awesome, talented, + compelling dude.
