rock band: the beatles
a week and a half to get rock band: the beatles, i finally dropped the cash and have since transformed my living room into Liverpool (circa 1967.) not the first time the beatles have taken over my living space…
as a young kid, TV was not allowed (aside from sesame street and the electric co.) instead, entertainment came in the form of my dad’s VAST vinyl collection: janet / jimi / the doors / bob dylan / the byrds / the animals / the beach boys / and, THE BEATLES.
i have vivid memories of being 5 or 6, loading the record player with the beatles’ REVOLVER, and losing myself in the music (while swaying back/forth in a rocking chair. )
today, 33 years later, it’s a different kind of rocking…
while the commercial kinda creeps me out, the game ABSOLUTELY blows my mind. i’m particularly fond of the psychedelic era.
what’s even cooler, how my kids (ages 3 and 9 months) have taken to the music. deja vu ?!? they laugh, smile, sing, blabber, bop, and rock along to “getting better.” the power of THE BEATLES.
they have yet to respond the same way to rock band: metallica…
