  1. For my parent’s generation it was “where were you when Kennedy got shot”. For us it will always be “where were you on 9/11.” I was in Colorado and had gone into work early that day. Each customer that came in would bring a new piece of information, it was truly just unbelievable. I went home to watch the news reports at lunch and just couldn’t believe what I saw.

    I was also in college at the time. Between classes I would park in the far corners of the parking lot, put the seat back and listen to the radio…those days following 9/11 were just eerie. Where there used to be a steady stream of air traffic, was now only the occasional military patrol.

    I lived in a small town and quite surprisingly was surrounded by so many people affected. From those who became stranded out of town on business trips when flights were cancelled, to those who had family in New York and who worked at the Pentagon (everyone had a difficult time trying to get through by phone), to the local dentists who were part of the recovery effort in identifying victims…so very sad.
