paddle for clean water

SURFRIDER’s 18th annual PADDLE FOR CLEAN WATER is SUNDAY, sept. 13th.

an attendee since the early 90s, “the paddle” is my FAVORITE surf event in san diego.

in short, the ocean gives SO much, it’s a wonderful way to say thanks/pay respect.

involved over the years as a radio partner, today i volunteer as an emcee. here’s a clip from last year (joined on stage by a special guest, ha!) :

bill hickman, a friend and SURFRIDER foundation’s san diego chapter coordinator, continues to do a tremendous job with the event.

here’s the 18th annual PADDLE FOR CLEAN WATER FESTIVAL schedule:

9am: Light breakfast is served for all paddlers - FREE!
10am: Paddle around the OB Pier
11am: Group photo, guest speakers and raffle
11:30am: Live music begins with The Professors
11:30am: Stone Brew beer garden opens in parking lot & Kids arts and crafts area opens on grassy area near lifeguard tower
12:35pm: Pullman Standard
1:40pm: C Money and The Players Inc.
2:45pm: Tribal Seeds
4:00pm: Iration
5:00pm: Festival ends

needless to say, i look forward to seeing you at the OB pier.
