the nervous wreckords.
my dear friend, brian karcig, is a san diego musician/producer.
best known for his involvement in LOUIS XIV, i met brian 12 years ago at the late tower records sports arena (sniff. sniff.) in another band at the time, he was performing in the parking lot. after the show, we shared some laughs backstage (or, next to a dumpster.) we’ve been brotherly close ever since.
talent aside, i’m amazed by his friendship, heart, and beard.

today, brian has launched a new project, the nervous wreckords.
granted i’m a tad biased, but i think it’s f#ckin’ brilliant.
before i share my favorite track (off the new EP,) here’s brian on the project:
….In 2008 after 3 albums 4 EP’s, and 5 years of extensive international touring with LOUIS XIV, i met Anthony Saffery producer and member of UK band Cornershop when having a drink in a hotel bar before a gig in Cambridge, MA.
I’ve always been a fan of Cornershop, and have seen Anthony playing Sitar with Noel Gallagher on a Beatles tribute performance on the BBC, and loved “Brimful of Asha” song and video! We started chatting and really hit it off…
We decided to start working on some tracks together by sending hard drives of files across the country, and working out of our own studios respectively. I really love the club/eastern/beat element Anthony does creatively and really wanted to try something different musically….the result is a handful of tracks that have re-inspired me, and plan to release them as a full length LP, under The Nervous Wreckords.

thank you, brian.
without further ado, the track i am most excited is called BURN IT UP.
as i put it to brian, “you sound like f’in J.T.” his response, “who’s J.T.?” justin timberlake. “oh, i’m OK with that dude.”
be sure to check out the nervous wreckords EP on myspace.
