jesse’s story.
last night, in support of my buddy, mark jacobs (former FOX6/san diegan,)
i attended a fancy hollywood screening of his new (inspirational/moving) documentary, entitled “jesse’s story.”
an incredible turnout on hollywood/vine, it ruled.
over the years, i’ve interviewed jesse (billauer) about his amazing story, and wonderful foundation, LIFE ROLLS ON.
in short, at the age of 17, a surf accident rendered jesse a quadriplegic in 1996. today, he’s the world’s first (sponsored) quadriplegic surfer and founder of the non-profit, LifeRollsOn. LRO, creates awareness/activism for spinal cord injury research and contributes to the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation.
in-n-out of the water, jesse is truly inspirational. the film, “jesse’s story,” is a beautiful, honest interpretation of his journey. it includes a powerful scene with christopher reeve, and a lovely soundtrack provided by jack johnson, ben harper, g.love, jason mraz, and tristan prettyman.
needless to say, i highly recommend “jesse’s story.”
more to come (including interviews with jesse/mark…and, a san diego premiere?)
aloha, cantore.

Any chance the soundtrack will be up for sale? The artists listed are some of my favorites.
