road rage.

i’m driving my son, southbound on the 5, to his daycare in I.B. (it’s about 7:30 a.m.)

around national city, i notice two dudes (mid – late 20′s) involved in an “exchange” on the side of the road.

a standoff between their cars, one guy is waving a golf club (3-wood) like a battle axe.

at first, i was inspired to pull over and tell chi chi to “move along.”

then, i remembered i had a toddler in the back watching shark tale on a portable DVD player (damn, i swore we’d never get one of those in the car.)

so, i reported to 911 and thought:  “man, i feel bad for those dudes.  to be filled with so much rage, first thing, friday morning.  in the current universe, fighting each other on the 5 south is not the answer.”

and, i would have pulled a sand wedge.

signed, chris cantore.  former caddy, now daddy.   muttontown country club.  1985.
